Geotechnical Zoning for the Construction of an Irrigation District in the Department of Atlántico - Colombia

For the construction of an irrigation district, geotechnical conditions existing soils in municipality Ponedera (Atlántico, Colombia) were analyzed, by means manual sampling and standard permeability test (SPT). This information was processed a database for analysis. The soil types obtained, most which classified as inorganic clays silts (CL ML), to lesser extent, silty clayey sands (SM SC), maps zoning allowable capacity drawn GIS. No water table found investigated area. Following guidelines Colombian Earthquake Resistant Regulation (NSR-10) RAS, usefulness future studies has been concluded. Finally, explored can support load capacities at depth 3.0 m 31.8 ton/m2.
